Henri Toulouse-Lautrec is well known today as a legendary bohemian artist from the 18th century who was born in 1864 in the south of France. His family was part of the aristocratic society. Lautrec suffered a genetic condition that stopped his bones from healing properly. By the age 14 he had broken both legs which then ceased to grow normally despite the rest of his body which left him a mere 4 foot high. Due to this unfortunate condition, it forced Lautrec to focus on sketching and painting. As a teen he was a student of the artist Fernand Cormon and perfected his arts on a hill above Paris, Montmatre. Laurec soon gave himself up to the true bohemian lifestyle of drinking, cabarets, brothels and endless art. Henri Toulouse Lautrec died in September 1901.
