Wendy Wooden was born in Wagga, New South Wales. Throughout her childhood she excelled in visual arts, selling her paintings as young as fourteen, although she was more interested in photography in which she later majored. With an early career in photography and illustration, Wooden traveled in the 70's to Europe and Africa, and eventually settled in Spain where she lived for a number of years. This period of her life had a profound effect upon her art, pushing her to explore her own passions, particularly still life and floral subjects life-size in oil on canvas, as she still paints today. Upon returning to Australia, Wooden continued to paint her rich, lust art works, and her successful exhibitions and media publicity brought her to the attention of publishers and manufacturers, resulting in Wooden's images being sold all over the world in the form of fine art prints, art cards, dinnerware and other products utilizing her art. Living in an exotic rural environment in a haven of gardens and bush, it is here this multi-talented artist draws her inspiration for the stunning paintings she creates, whose style and compositions are unique.
